Pete Smidt provides transaction advisory services, turnaround management consulting, debt restructuring, mergers & acquisitions consulting and crisis management services for performing and under-performing businesses. Mr. Smidt works extensively with the firm's private equity and hedge fund clients.
Prior to joining Conway MacKenzie, Mr. Smidt was the Executive Vice President and CFO of Plastech Engineered Products, Inc, a $1.5 billion Tier 1 supplier of interior and exterior components. In this position, Pete reported directly to the CEO and was responsible for developing strategic direction and financial goals and managing the day-to-day finance and treasury organization. Mr. Smidt was instrumental in leading the Plastech organization, along with its team of advisors, including Conway MacKenzie, through its restructuring process.
Prior to joining Plastech, Mr. Smidt was a Director in the Transaction Services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was responsible for leading and coordinating due diligence efforts on over 150 transactions of performing and under-performing businesses. Mr. Smidt's clients included large private equity and corporate clients. Additionally, he was a Senior Associate in the Business Accounting and Advisory Services Group at Deloitte & Touche where he provided auditing and business advisory services to manufacturing and financial clients.
Mr. Smidt is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Master's of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
