Paul Mariani has more than ten years of experience executing mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, and capital formation transactions for both public and private companies. Mr. Mariani has extensive experience in a variety of industries including automotive, business services, consumer products, food and agribusiness, and transportation and logistics.

Prior to joining Variant Capital, Mr. Mariani was a Director of Investment Banking at Lakeshore Food Advisors, LLC where he provided strategic and financial advisory services to a variety of clients throughout the food chain. Prior to that he was a Vice President and Principal at Brown, Gibbons, Lang & Company (“BGL”), an investment bank specializing in middle market transactions. During his tenure with BGL, Mr. Mariani led multiple deal teams and executed M&A and recapitalization transactions with a collective value of approximately $900 million. He began his investment banking career with Banc of America Securities, LLC.

Mr. Mariani received his Master of Business Administration degree from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and he earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Turnaround Management Association.
